Digestive support soups

Dr. Moro’s carrot soup.

Recipe for Dr. Moro’s carrot soup:

  1. Take 500 grams of carrots, peel, and chop them into small pieces.

  2. Boil the carrots in one liter of water until they are very soft.

  3. Puree the carrots with the cooking water using a blender or by mashing them thoroughly.

  4. Add boiled water to restore the total volume of the soup to one liter.

  5. Add 1-2 grams of table salt.
This soup is rich in natural pectins and helps with diarrhea by normalizing the intestinal microflora. It also soothes the stomach lining and prevents dehydration.

Meat Kissel (Broth Jelly)

This recipe is intended for cases of diarrhea only — it helps “bind” the stool and soothe the gastrointestinal tract. It should not be given in cases of constipation.

Ingredients:

  • 0.5 L light chicken or beef broth (low-fat, clear)

  • 2–3 levelled tbsp potato starch

  • ½ cup cold water

Method:

  1. Bring the broth to a gentle simmer.

  2. In a separate cup, thoroughly dissolve 2–3 tbsp potato starch in ½ cup cold water, making sure there are no lumps.

  3. Pour the starch mixture slowly into the simmering broth in a thin stream while stirring constantly.

  4. Continue stirring and heating until the broth thickens into a smooth, jelly-like consistency — similar to a light pudding or sauce.

  5. Let it cool slightly before serving.

👉 This “kissel” forms a soothing coating on the intestines and helps firm up loose stool. It is recommended only for diarrhea management and should not be used if your puppy is constipated.
